In this 3-hour online class, you’ll turn an AI fashion concept art sketch into an initial techpack for samplemaking and factory pre-production.

Explore techpack types. Begin with a brief history of major industry techpack types and styles used today.

Measure and create. Measure a garment you own to create your first AI-assisted techpack from home.

Combine AI and traditional methods. Combine AI-generated flats using large language model (LLM) prompts with traditional techpack sketches and layouts made by hand, in Excel, and in Illustrator.
This practical approach complements our sewing classes.
To take part, have a laptop or tablet you can draw on, a tape measure, and a sample fit garment ready. We also recommend ordering fabric samples and familiarizing yourself with introductory flat patternmaking concepts for a traditional women’s ready-to-wear line.
By the end of the class, you should have an initial techpack of your own top and a basic understanding of the process for creating more. We highly recommend combining this online class with some of our in-person practical sewing classes.
The class will be recorded and available for students afterwards if you would like to watch it for reference later.
