Surprize Apples

It’s fruit tree planting season. The British are known in the US for having the best apples, but need to do more research into the color changing types like Surprize Apples which are lovely golden outside and sweet pink inside. Fruit makes some of the most beautiful embroidery. Expect to see this along with color dying next year with a modern tech twist. Blame Foundation, Apple’s scifi tv show, but the costumes are GREAT and the fashion technology gets you thinking how you could use it. The  epic tailors in the show combine ancient handsewing with modern nanotechnology and special eyewear…smart glasses…for seeing their work for the very wealthy. Need to look into the new apps for transposing photos you take on objects as a guide for crafting. Da Vinci Eye and Camera Lucida Apps seem to be the most popular, but if anyone has a suggestion, open to it since it would eliminate the need for transfer paper, etc. which would save money/time. The baking industry seems to be ahead here with setting up an iPad/iPhone on a stand, then making it project the picture on the cookies or cakes to outline for custom high-end clients and events. No mess, no fuss. Sewing on frames are a similar set-up, but take longer to make.

You can really see some futuristic American fashion brands like Tom Ford having fun at NYC Fashion Week in February 2026 where the designer goes to do research in beautiful iconic museums, resorts, and locations taking pictures in smart glasses as a PR stunt, then goes back to his workshop to share inspiration photos with his team that they embroider and sequin on various articles of clothing. And make it into prints. Europe has plenty of pretty places too so this doesn’t have to be a strictly American thing. Maison Margiela or Chanel spring to mind. But, like all trends, this one will get down to money. There's going to be a learning curve and someone is going to have to make some grants/training classes available. Foundation’s Emperor might be able to afford and enjoy the mix of traditional and futuristic fashion technology, but ours? Unknown.

Still, that fruit, especially the English apples are pretty.
