Hurricane recovery continues, but it looks like people are sorting stuff out and getting back to fall festival stuff with added food drives at events. Makes you feel good about the country seeing people come together. We’re also getting back to our planned blog posts. We got a huge number of print magazines and advertising in September which was nice, the clear winners were Jennifer Garner and Southern Living Magazine. For anyone who has not gotten to see America’s sweetheart mom, Garner is busy promoting her Once Upon A Farm family produce line in local grocery stores and doing a great job. There’s a lot of kids' stuff which will appeal to health moms, but the clear winner are the bars which run around $1-2/each or $6/box which you can find on Amazon and local retailers near you. She’s also got wonderful interviews at her home with a fruit tree orchard in her backyard. Something we obviously don’t have. Total fan service. It’s easy to dunk on Hollywood or celebrities, but sometimes you see someone come out with a gem like this and you want to stop and say, “Good job.”
You really have to root for Jennifer Garner’s family and we wish her all the best. Back to Southern Living, still trying to decide if we’re seeing an increase in print flyers. Maybe. Maybe not. Magazines and newspapers seem to be getting more traction. And weirdly sports promo posters under highways. Think soccer. So it should be notable when you do pick up a lovely magazine like Southern Living with great photos, well-written articles, fantastic recipes, and great style, to stop and note a team doing something right. Obviously this magazine is super fun and a bit of a staple for salons and hair stylists in the region, but they even had a great article on monarch butterfly preservation in the last issue. Really need to look into smaller regional publications right now. Guess this blog post is all about people in the arts being awesome. Nice to see. We wish you a fun week too.
