Hope people are enjoying the perfect weather. It’s the traditional Fall Grain Harvest! Wild to think that all of Europe for thousands of years gets together this week to cut wheat and barley harvests. Agricultural workers built fallen branch lean-to-shelters called Sukkot in Hebrew if you go back to Moses in the Old Testament. You still see these all-over Latin America with banana and palm leaves today. A time to celebrate, enjoy family, and erase and settle debts. You can read all about ancient kings pardoning debts as a national holiday back in Babylon and Egypt. Even if you’re not a king, debts are more typically forgiven after 7 years or paid back at 120% interest. Today, your modern mortgage company may last 30 years, but we still have the ancient code embedded in our modern credit legal system. Kind of a cool agricultural and gardening legacy we still practice today as kindness. The world can always use more kindness.
