This week got to learn about growing corn and corn truffles which given all the rain we've gotten, our community garden corn seem infested with. It's apparently a huge delicacy so the high school kids were excited. Me? Not so sure about this $1,000/pound weather mistake. Given how much scifi and fantasy read, people keep asking about “Disclosure” and going to blame series like Altered Carbon, Asimov’s Robots, and Silo, expect less end of the world pyrotechnics and more comical everyday automation. Like replacing store mannequins with robots that can wear brand clothing and do a basic wave or dance at customers in store front windows for holidays. Which is going to take visual merchandising jobs to another level each month when you do switch-outs. When working at Belks, you had to be extremely careful not to touch the models on the floor in weird ways or flash naked soft forms at customers when do plan-o-gram roll-outs from brands while ironing and steaming clothing in place with pins. That is just into overdrive when the models start moving and boobs are involved. Creative writers are going to have wonderful time. Maybe a few good memes. There’s going to have to be costume modifications so will store tailoring shops put in overdrive having to add straps and creative fastenings?
Even if you have a few public fails, it will definitely sell clothing and everything else. Could be wrong of course. Animatronic Disney rides and Christmas Santa’s workshop stuff has been around since the 80s at least. Could be totally wrong of course.
On a sidenote, has anyone else noticed an uptick in traditional print magazines? They seem to be getting a second life around here.
